Library

The Library is your personal space (it requires signing in): it's where you organise, find, share and manage your songs and collections. The Library doesn't create or edit songs — writing happens in Write and reading in View; here you put them in order, share them and curate their access.

How it's organised

  • Personal — your material, in three tabs:
    • Songs — your songs (created by you, owned by you, ones you collaborate on or are subscribed to);
    • Books — collections of songs;
    • Playlists — ordered setlists of songs.
  • Public — the public catalogue: Songs and Books shared by the community, which you can browse and subscribe to.
  • Create — to create a new song (opens Write), a new book or a new playlist.

Searching and filtering

At the top there's a search bar that searches the document name, the title and the credits (music, lyrics, arrangement, transcription). In the public catalogue you can search by tag by typing #tag.

Each tab has its own filters and sorts:

  • Songs — filter by role (creator / can modify / view only), state (stable / wip), sharing (private / with link / public) and rating; sort by name, title, recently added, recently opened, sharing state, top rated.
  • Books — filter by role and sharing; sort by name, recently added, most songs.
  • Playlists — sort by name, recently added, most items.
  • Public — sort and search (text or #tag); from here you can subscribe to a song or a book to add it to your material.

The detail panel and the actions

Selecting an item opens a detail panel (to the side) with its metadata and the available actions. On a song you typically find:

  • Open — opens the song in View;
  • Edit — opens the song in Write;
  • Share — opens the sharing window (see Links & sharing);
  • Add to Book / Add to Playlist — adds the song to a collection or a setlist;
  • Export NRK — downloads the song's .nrk file;
  • Manage roles — manages collaborators and permissions (only if you're the creator/owner);
  • Delete — deletes the song (creator only), with confirmation;
  • Resign / Unsubscribe — resign from a role or cancel a subscription to someone else's song.

From the panel you can also rate the song (stars), view and manage the tags (public and private), and consult its metadata (title, subtitle, credits, key, meter, style, BPM, presence of lyrics, dates).

Renaming and versions

From here you can rename a song (from the detail panel, by clicking the name — creator only; renaming can also be done from Write). You see songs with their states (wip / stable) and you can make a Release. The model of name-vs-title, versions and states is described in Song.

Sharing and managing access

From the Library you share a song — the three kinds of link (fly / hard / reactive) with a QR code, see Links & sharing — and you manage who can do what via Manage roles (invite by email, transfer the creator role, remove). A song's access setting can be private, with link, with protected link, or public. For the roles and their capabilities see Roles.

Books and Playlists

From the Library you also create and manage collections:

  • a book is a collection of songs: add/remove songs, set a cover and description, publish it, export it to .nrk, subscribe to public ones by others. What a book is → Book.
  • a playlist is an ordered setlist: add and reorder items (by dragging), set transpose/ notes/form for each one, share and export it. What a playlist is and how it's performed → Playlist.

Importing and exporting

  • Importing: drag a .nrk file into the Library. If it's a single song it's added to your Songs; if it's a collection (book or playlist) a window lets you choose how to import it and whether the songs should be references or frozen copies.
  • Exporting: you download a single song, a book or a playlist as .nrk.

Multiple selection

By turning on multiple selection (up to 100 songs) you can apply bulk actions: add a public or private tag, make public, add to a book or a playlist, remove.

Account and data

From the account page you manage your profile (avatar, display name, username), email verification and password reset (if you sign in with a password), the interface language (EN/IT/FR) and the links to privacy and terms. In addition:

  • Export your data — you download a ZIP archive with your songs (re-importable .nrk), the metadata of books and playlists, your profile and settings (GDPR right of access/portability).
  • Account deletion — you can delete it with a 30-day grace period (reversible) or immediately; any pending transfers must be resolved first.

Notifications

The bell at the top gathers invitations (to a role on songs, books or playlists), pending transfers and access requests to a private song of yours.
