Book¶
A book is a collection of songs — an anthology, a songbook, a repertoire. It's an ordered container that references the songs (Song) it contains: when a song is updated, the book reflects the current version.
What it contains and how it looks¶
A book has a name, a description and a cover, plus the list of songs. You create and manage it from the Library: add or remove songs, edit name/description and cover, refresh the contents.
Private or public¶
Like a song, a book can be private or public:
- from private you can publish it: in that step your contained songs are made public in turn, while any non-publishable songs by others are left out (a window tells you before you proceed);
- a public book appears in the catalogue, where others can subscribe to add it to their own material.
Roles and export¶
A book is subject to the Roles (creator, owner, collaborator, viewer,
subscriber). A book can be exported to a .nrk file (and re-imported): see Importing and
exporting.
To build instead an ordered setlist for performance, with transpositions and form for each song, use a Playlist.
